Honiton Hippo – 2026

Congratulations to the 11 senior Honiton Running Club members who took part in Honiton Running Club’s own Honiton Hippo on Sunday, 13th September. Thirteen junior members took part in the Hippo Calf. Many HRC members were involved in organisation and marshalling and it was great to support their own runners who actually took part in the races.

Although the tough hilly multi terrain course was dry and firm under foot there were river crossings and water troughs to get the runners wet on their race! Matt Hollings had a great race to finish in 2nd place in a time of 52 minutes.17 seconds, missing out on the win to a very good Max Richardson of AVR. Hadleigh Davies has been running well of late and he was next back in 8th place and a time of 1.04, winning the MV50 age category. Nick Couch was 3rd HRC runner to finish in 1.07 and 15th place. Martin Lee had a cracking race to take 23rd place in 1.11, coming 2nd in the MV40 age category. New member Mark Russell put in a great run in his new HRC kit to finish in 31st place with a time of 1.14. Graeme Ford was next home in 34th place with a time of 1.16. Emma Davey had a good race to finish in 37th place with a time of 1.17. New dad. Jacob Haddon. ran well to finish in 1.22 and 47th place. Geri Terry had a great race to finish in 49th place and 2nd FV40 in a time of 1.23. Jim Kimber finished 56th in 1.24. Charlie Hollings was the final HRC runner to finish.
